Anti-Termite Service

Termites also known as white ants; live in colonies consisting of Queen, King, Few Soldiers & large number of workers. Queen controls the colony through chemical stimulus; she can lay more than 10,000 eggs in a week. King supports the queen in reproduction. Both king & queen live in the antichamber. Soldiers protect the colony workers collect the food feed the colony. Muddy channels  colony structure repair is done by workers. They are blind & work for 24 hours. The infestations caused by the termites are huge like storms, cyclones, fire, flood etc. They can damage any structure in search of material containing cellulose like wood, paper & cloths. If mud tubes are seen in building, wooden structure there will be the problem of termite in that structure. Sometimes infestation will be done to internal structure but we can’t detect it, muddy channels are also not

seen. The structure gets totally infested; we can’t do anything after the damage to the structure. So to avoid the undetectable infestation treating the premises against termite is very important.

How to determine if a pest is termite Infestation?

Termites have several body parts that look distant from the other pests such as their beheaded antenna, wings of identical size, and uniform waist. There are three categories of termites available namely dry wood termites, damp wood termites, and subterranean termites.

Some common traits of having termites at home

Here is a list of traits you can check for if you want to determine if your home is infested with termites or not:

  • You get a hollow sound while tapping on a woodblock.
  • You see a group of flying insects in the ground of your home.
  • The paint on your furniture has cracks or bubbles on it.

You see tubes of mud on your wall

These traits prove the fact that there is a termite infestation going on at your home. They are usually found in wooden articles because they find cellulose in them which is essential for their survival. These creatures can even breed up to hundred feet below the ground.

On top of that, they can create their colonies of thousands of termites at your home. Therefore, they are a major threat to your assets and property. Hence, this is where we, at star pest control can help you. We can help you get rid of these creatures at the most attractive prices.

This service divided by two categories

  1. Pre-construction termite control services
  2. Post-construction termite treatment

(a). Pre-construction termite control service

Pest Covers – Subterranean Termites The principal of the treatment is to create a chemical barrier below and around the building so as to deny entry to the termites into the buildings.

Treatment for without basement Buildings

The treatment will commence after the foundation and the plinth wall construction is completed.

  1. Treatment to top surface of plinth filling:

After the soil filling is completed in the plinth area and before the dry rubble packing, the entire surface of the filled soil and the top surface of plinth wall/beam shall be treated with the chemical

emulsion at 5 litres per sq.m.

  1. Treatment at junction of wall and floor:

Rodding shall be carried out along the junction of wall and soil filling at 1 mtr. Intervals down up to 30 cm. emulsion shall be sprayed along the wall junction at 1 litre per linear metre so that it mixes thoroughly with the broken-up soil. The disturbed earth is then tamped back in place.

  1. Treatment of soil along external perimeter :

The soil around the external perimeter of the building up to a depth of 30 cm shall be treated at 2.25 litres per linear metre of the plinth wall.

  1. Treatment of soil surrounding pipes, wastes and conduits :

When pipes, wastes and conduits enter the soil inside the area of the foundation, the soil surrounding the point of entry must be loosened around each such pipe, waste or conduit for a distance of 15 cm and up to a depth of 7.5cm and loosened soil shall be treated with chemical emulsion.

Treatment for with basement Buildings

The treatment starts when the excavation is complete and before lying soling and pcc.

  1. Treatment to soil below raft :

After the soil filling is completed in the plinth area and before the dry rubble packing, the entire surface of the filled soil and the top surface of plinth wall/beam shall be treated with the chemical

emulsion at 5 litres per sq.m.

  1. Treatment to soil along the retaining wall:

The soil coming in contact with the retaining wall shall be treated at 5 litre per sq.m. The treatment shall follow the backfilling is done in stages of 30 cms but not exceed a depth of 1 metre.

  1. Treatment to soil along the external perimeter of the building:

The soil around the external perimeter of the building up to a depth of 30 cm shall be treated at 2.25 litre per linear metre.

  1. Treatment of soil surrounding pipes, wastes and conduits:

When pipes, wastes and conduits enter the soil inside the area of the foundation, the soil surrounding the point of entry must be loosened around each such pipe, waste or conduit for a distance of 15 cm and up to a depth of 7.5 cm and loosened soil shall be treated with chemical emulsion.

(b). Post construction termite treatment

Post Construction Anti Termite Treatment- (Treatment for ready structure)

The Treatment is done by drilling at wall & floor junction as required, filling the holes with anti-termite chemical & sealing the holes with cement. If muddy channels are present, channels are also treated with anti-termite chemicals.

Anti-Termite Treatment – Covers Subterranean Termites

For Inside Premises :

The inside premises is drilled with a 12mm diameter drill having 6 inch length, the drilling is done to the effective depth of 4 to 5 inches. The drilled holes are filled with anti termite chemical and the holes

are sealed with cement. Then the muddy channels made by termite are sprayed to kill the live termite inside the muddy channel and after that the channels are removed and the minute hole from where the termites enters into the premises are injected with the anti termite chemical.

For Outside premises:

The outside walls of the building columns are drilled with the drill bit having 12 inch length & 12 mm diameter to the depth of 1 ft. If the building is stilt plus, the side corners of the columns are drilled and the holes are filled with anti termite chemical. If the mud tubes are seen, the channels are treated with anti termite chemical and then removed. All staircases, passage areas and all other common portions are drilled and filled with anti termite chemical and sealed with cement. After the initial drilling procedure, check-up service is done on a yearly basis.
